The planned rebuilding of Värtahamnen in Stockholm is a part of the development of Norra Djurgårdsstaden.

Development of Värtahamnen

The rebuilding of Värtahamnen is part of developing Stockholm city. To free-up space for a new city district, the port area has been redesigned: the pier will be extended and part of the harbour basin filled in. The result will be a more efficient port area that will extend further out into the bay.

The building time is planned between 2013 and 2016 with a total area of 131 000 square meters. There will be five quays with the total of 12 000 meters of quay and a new terminal with the area of 15 000 square meters. The total cost of the rebuilding is estimated to around 2.6 billion SEK.

Logent Ports & Terminals AB has been a part of the planning and structuring regarding the logistics of the port. All ships will be able to call at the port with the same frequency as usual during the whole building period. This will make huge demands on all participants operating at the port during this time, not least Logent Ports & Terminals AB who are continuing to load and unload the ships right in the middle of the building period.
