Logent Factory Services Oy provides logistics services in Vaasa for Hitachi Energy Finland’s transformer business. The collaboration covers a wide range of operations that require high-level expertise, agility, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Logent Factory Services is a trusted partner supporting Hitachi Energy’s transformer operations in areas such as packaging and warehousing. Operations Manager Jukka Konttas has been involved in the collaboration for several years, while SCM Manager Anne Viitanen joined the cooperation with Logent in 2022.
“Our partnership is highly comprehensive. Everything starts with people. We work daily with skilled and capable professionals in key roles,” Konttas says.
A culture of continuous improvement is an integral part of the cooperation.
“We expect active development efforts and access to world-class competence and quality in the logistics domain,” Konttas adds.
“Logent’s flexibility and fast response are key strengths in our daily collaboration.”
Flexibility and agility
In day-to-day operations, Logent’s agility and flexibility play a central role. Delivery schedules are often tight, and Logent’s response time is five hours from order to action.
“Flexibility and the ability to react quickly are Logent’s strengths in our daily work together. This is extremely important for us,” Viitanen says.
The external dimensions of finished transformers range from just a few meters in diameter to well over ten meters. Most units are also distinct and highly customized.
“When manufacturing engineering order products built according to customer-specific requirements, there are many variables at different stages of the process. This level of variation creates a clear need for flexibility,” Konttas explains.
Added development resources through organizational changes
The collaboration began in 2018 with Piccolo Solutions Oy, which Logent’s acquisition Logistikas purchased in 2021. When the business was transferred roughly five years ago, more than 20 employees joined what is now Logent Factory Services Oy.
“The latest organizational change has brought added development resources. Last autumn we held a joint development workshop where we identified various improvement opportunities,” Konttas says.
Development work has been a key element from the very beginning. Active dialogue is part of the continuous improvement process.
“Development areas are typically found at the interfaces between functions. Everyone can see and improve their own area, but when we work across boundaries, that’s usually where the greatest development potential lies,” Konttas notes.
“One ongoing development focus is further reducing the carbon footprint,” Viitanen adds.

A partner that evolves — and helps others evolve
Both Konttas and Viitanen highlight the importance of having the right contact person—in this case, Jesper Norrgårds, Unit Manager at Logent Factory Services Oy.
“Jesper is an excellent partner who takes ownership and is eager both to grow personally and to drive development. He also provides us with feedback, giving us insights into the improvement areas he has identified,” Konttas says appreciatively.
Shared successes and problem-solving
Jesper Norrgårds, Site Manager at Logent Factory Services Oy, has worked for just over two years as a key link in the cooperation between Logent and Hitachi Energy Finland.
“We work toward a shared goal. We want to solve any challenges that require quick reaction,” Norrgårds says.
Hitachi Energy is widely known for its high quality, and Logent meets these quality requirements with its own operational excellence.
“We have created an environment where issues are resolved, and the customer is supported with the right solutions. Our goal is to succeed together,” Norrgårds adds.
“Interaction plays a major role in successful cooperation,” Konttas emphasizes.
Hitachi Energy is a global technology leader advancing a sustainable energy future.
In Finland, Hitachi Energy manufactures, designs, delivers, and maintains transformers and reactors, grid automation and control solutions, and transmission and distribution systems such as complete substations for energy and power utilities, industry, transport, and infrastructure.
The Vaasa specialty transformer plant produces advanced transformers for demanding applications, including onshore and offshore wind farms.
